I just bought a capture card and want to convert some VHS tapes to digital. I installed the software that came with the card, but it does not seem helpful (I don't want to burn dvds).
I'd like to have them in compressed format (xvid, mpg, mov). I have Adobe's Flash Media Live Encoder installed, and I could use that to save the video in flash format.
Does anyone have software they would recommend, preferably free software? What software should I use to convert VHS to digital format? You can try enolsoft video converter.which can not noly convert between all common video formats. And can convert all major VCR and camcorder formats including: VHS, S-VHS, VHS-C, HI-8, Digital-8, miniDV, and Betacam SP.What software should I use to convert VHS to digital format? You may take a look at this guide, it's about how to capture video from VHS to computer and burn to DVD, it works pretty well for me
