What is the standard video software and animation software to create an "MTV standard" music video?

I've been making music videos of my own using imovie'11 and not very satisfied. I've been watching some really creative videos with amazing animation and was wondering what software do those editors use to create such detailed work?What is the standard video software and animation software to create an "MTV standard" music video?You're talking about about professional music videos? I'd assume they'd probably use something like final cut pro. Although it's like 1000 bucks so like unless you pirate it than you're outta luck.
