What software should i get for keeping track of my time i work?

I had a app on my ipod touch that kept track of how much i worked and how much i should get paid. What software can i get for vista that will do the same? How can ipod touch have so many apps that are useful but on vista most of the apps cost over $100 for even the most simple apps?What software should i get for keeping track of my time i work?You can create an excel file to keep track of hours and pay.
