What editing software does the History Channel editors use?

What do most channels like, MTV, Discovery, History and so on, use to edit and add those crazy graphics and beautiful color? It looks almost like a movie, even though it's just documentary. They even take home videos sometimes with a normal crappy camera and make it look so good. The sky is always so much more blue, then my digital hi8 camera. I know there is software like AVID and Final Cut Pro, and even Adobe Premiere, but what do those editors use?What editing software does the History Channel editors use?I have personally been to 2 of those 3 channels. The edit and finish on Avid, usually High End HD systems like DS and Nitris, Offline on Media Composer. For Promotions they use everything under the sun for doing Effects. After Effects, Photoshop, Maya, Softimage, Boris, etc. Some guys are hardcore Mac people and some are fans of PC. They use Final Cut as well on somethings, but usually for pre-production editing. The tools vary by the artist and editor. I have never seen Premiere being used at the ones I have visited. Any good artist or editor will get good result with whatever product you give them, and a little learning curve time.
